Yesterday I went to supernova con, which in itself is pretty good , but I had the pleasure of meeting two incredible women from the world of comics.. Gail Simone & Nicola Scott
Women who I admire not just because they are great in their chosen fields but women, who as the father of a lil girl give me hope that my lil amara can be just as kickass stand up ladies in a field of men…
I never know if Gail or Nicola will ever read this but thanks ladies not just for signing my stuff .. But for being who you are!
P.s Gail if you do see this both Grayson & Amara were over the moon with the thought that the “batgirl writer lady” wrote a hello in their books.

Why do you read comics?
Today, I have received an unbelievable amount of moving, heartfelt messages and posts, and it has been lovely to hear these stories.
So I’m wondering, and any answer is fine…why do you read comics? What is it about comics that you love?
The escapism is what drew me in as a kid , now it’s still an escape… But one I can share with my kids so we can all get taken to different places, and sometimes learn something new as well … I hope that’s not too deep lol

I don’t write on here often but today I though I’d share a thought , a woman I greatly admire was given the arse from a job she was doing fantastically and it sucks when something is taken away from you when ur doing it so well, Gail I dont know if you will ever read this post but know that you made me and my kids a bigger fan of Batgirl because of ur great writing , and I for one hope to see you go on to even bigger and better things , hell I’d read a menu if u wrote one :)

My curfew was the street lights! My mom called my name, not my cell. I played outside with friends, not online. If I didn’t eat what my mom cooked, then I didn’t eat. Sanitizer didn’t exist, but I COULD get my mouth washed out with soap. I rode a bike without a helmet, getting dirty was OK, and my neighbors looked out for me as much as my parents did.
